About Us

Castorland, New York

Furnishings from the Black River valley.

Black River Furnishings Co. is a furniture store at 4773 NY-410 in Castorland, New York, in the North Country between the Tug Hill Plateau and the Adirondacks. We build solid wood consoles, record player stands, bathroom vanities, coffee tables, mantels and tree bookshelves to order and ship them free across the United States.

Why solid wood

Up here furniture has to last through long winters, wood-stove heat and muddy springs. Solid hardwood can be sanded, re-oiled and repaired for generations.

We keep the natural edge wherever we can, so every piece shows the tree it came from.

What we build

Consoles & record stands — entry consoles, sideboards, TV consoles, record player stands and floating bathroom vanities.
Tables & desks — live-edge and sculpted coffee tables, side tables, a round dining table and desks.
Bookshelves & mantels — sculpted tree bookshelves, fireplace mantel shelves, wine shelves and cat-tree shelves.
Lighting & decor — wall sconces, pendants, floor lamps, benches, coat racks and 3D wall art.
